Decorating A Small Limoges Box |
The design on the box is a classical French design. Use a divider ie. a paper on which you will find:
Our object is also divided into 6 parts |
With a ruler and a graphite pencil join the first two radii marked 6. In case your object is to be divided into 5 parts, double the number ( a raduis 5 will have its opposite raduis indicating 10) in order to draw two diameters. You will therefore have found the centre of the object and so you just link the other radii indicting 5 upto the centre of your piece.
Here the object is divided into 6 equal parts.
Scotch the sides of the 6 sections with your special tape. Every alternate section will have the rose design. Fot this, prepare your design on tracing paper and reproduce it as necessary using carbon paper. The inside two parts of the box are also decorated with the rose design (see below). |
Decorate the remaining three sections of the lid with a net design.
paint the roses with a fine brush number 000 series 8404. Refer to lesson 5 for the roses. Use the same brush with some black color to do the net design. Remove the tapes.
